Here are letters and presentations from UC administrators about plans that have for our benefits. We will need to work together with other UC unions to protect the benefits and retirement plan we have.
- Projections for Retirement and Benefits Costs and Changes. Presentation by now retired UC benefits manager Michele French to UC Leadership Institute.
- Because of increased costs UC may have to shift to a defined contribution 401K style retirement plan starting 7/1/7.
- UC may have shift up to 30% ($340/month!) of the cost of health benefits to employees by 2010.
- Staff salaries have fallen behind market rates.
- UC may make cuts to retiree medical benefit.

- UC claims the changes will not impact current employees directly. While UC does not state this, current employees retirement fund may destabilized by not having new employees paying into it.
