UC San Francisco Today, May 10, 2006 we are completing our second bargaining session with University of California on behalf of the HX bargaining unit. We are having some moderate success with our submissions to UC regarding non-economic proposals. These articles submitted to UC for consideration this week have been:
UC responded to a few of our submissions and accepted a few of our recommendations. However, more bargaining at the table and pressure from members to get UC to accept recommendations will be necessary as we bargain in Irvine , San Diego and Los Angeles in the coming weeks. We are also pleased to announce that our first call for statewide mobilization efforts has produced an overwhelming response from our members. The University thought that there was not a problem with the scheduling of vacation time. Your responses within the first 24 hours of request have shown, overwhelmingly, that they are wrong about this and need to pay attention to the issue. Finally, we are pleased to announce that a number of HX members from UCSF came to the bargaining sessions to observe and speak. We encourage all members to participate. More news to come in the future. Your bargaining team , Bob Dawson ( BK ), Wendi Felson ( SF ), Larry Freed (IR), Sue McCormick ( DV ), |
