2022 Elections FAQs

When do the ballots go out?
Ballots will be mailed on June 9, 2022

When is the deadline to return the ballots?
The ballots must be received by 9 am Saturday July 9, 2022. The count will take place on July 9, 2022.

I just joined the union. Am I eligible to vote?
Yes, and you should request a ballot by email to make sure you receive one.

I recently retired. Am I still eligible to vote?
If you’re an associate member, no. If you’re an active retiree member, yes.

I changed status during the voting period. Am I still eligible to vote?
Possibly. See Appendix B, Section I.3.A.

This election is a rerun of the 2020 election, so why are two of the candidates different?
Two of the original candidates dropped out of the race, so nominations were reopened for those offices to ensure a contest.

I need a replacement ballot or never received one. How do I request a new ballot?
Email info@upte-cwa.org or call MK Elections at (209) 259-6740 and press “5” to skip to the menu.

Is there any way to track my ballot in the mail to verify delivery?
Unfortunately, there is not. Return your ballot without delay.
