On November 13th, AFSCME 3299 will be striking to protest UC’s latest illegal moves to outsource their work to private contractors.
If UC gets away with outsourcing AFSCME jobs there is no reason to believe they won’t use the same tactics to replace UPTE members with contractors in order to break our ability to fight for fair working conditions.
While UPTE cannot strike, we encourage all UPTE members to wear your UPTE gear and join the picket lines whenever you can – before work, after work, and during breaks. It’s especially important to turn out for their noon time rally and show our support in their fight as they supported us!
Employees may wish to exercise their rights of free speech to not cross picket lines. Those concerned for their safety, may opt to not go to work.
