UC executives’ most recent communication to UPTE and AFSCME members attempts to convince us that our 2-year fight for fair contracts has cost us too much.
It has – but only because UC has refused to offer us terms similar to what it agreed to with CNA-represented nurses, whose average salaries are far higher than ours. We know that we can make UC put more on the table if we keep fighting!
UC has admitted that they can afford to give us a fair deal – yet they want us to question the sacrifices that we have made for our families, patients, students, and research.
Fighting for justice is no small sacrifice but we know from previous contracts that we can win a better deal if we keep fighting and bring more co-workers into the struggle with us!
