Tell UC that IT Workers Deserve Respect – Sign the Petition!
Over the past 10 years UC has denied thousands of IT workers the benefits of UPTE representation: fair raises, job security, and an extra 5 years of retirement.
Business Technology Support Analysts (BTSAs) are the first group of IT workers to correct this by joining UPTE’s Technical (TX) Unit, with Systems Administrators (SAs) close behind.
BTSAs and SAs now benefit from UPTE-negotiated protections against layoffs, contracting out, and arbitrary discipline. We are also poised to win back the 5 years of retirement that were taken from new hires in 2013.
Unfortunately after more than 18 months of BTSA negotiations, UC has refused two key demands:
- Pay increases to compensate for lost wages
- Improved sick and vacation leave policy for Medical Center staff
After more than 12 months, UC is also rejecting our proposals for all technical workers:
- Stronger protections against contracting out
- Protect our healthcare and pension benefits
- Fair cost of living and step increases
Sign below to add you name to our petition demanding that UC provide a fair deal for BTSAs, which will set an important precedent for SAs and all other IT professionals at UC!
